The Animal Welfare Institute is a non-profit organization and has been around since 1951.

Founded by Christine Stevens, this non-profit started out advocating for animals subject to laboratory experiments, Animals In Laboratories but over the years her mission grew to many other animal welfare causes such as Companion Animals and Wildlife.

Their website offers a lot of information. There are books, reports and ways to take action and to donate.

  1. What a wonderful theme! I’m looking forward to reading about these organizations, most I am not already familiar with. Animals are a big love of mine. And their wellbeing of course! We have the same birth year, buy mine is in August.

    • Hi Lisa. The past few years, on my other blog, I have done all different non-profits for the a to z challenge. This year my theme there is all about me. I decided to add this blog to the challenge this year and do the animal non-profits. Glad to meet another fellow 1957 person! I tried to comment on your blog but it wasn’t letting me. Not sure what the problem is. Is it because I am on WordPress, do you know? Anyway, good luck with the challenge and thank you for stopping by!
