
A few years ago, a neighbor of mine had a Husky puppy who swallowed something and was chocking. She had no clue what to do to help the pup, but did try a few things in order to dislodge the object. Sadly, the puppy died. If she been knowledgeable in what to do, the outcome may have been different. But she never thought that something like this would happen!
We make sure our companion pets are well fed and well taken care of. Shouldn’t we also know what to do in case of emergency? Knowing what to do could save their lives and would make a situation less scary.

It’s probably a good idea to know the breed of your pet so that you can research genetic diseases. For example, some dog breeds are prone to seizers, such as the Shetland Sheepdog (which Misty Blue is), Beagles and Bernese Mountain Dogs. In the event of a seizer, it would be important to know what to do.
